Tanya Ortiz Obituary (1981 - 2021)

Tanya Ortiz (April 4,1981-May 5, 2021) Devoted daughter, sister, friend, nurse, and HCC Coleman college graduate, Tanya was known for her larger than life personality, selflessness, and contagious spirit. Being a nurse meant everything to her, and she truly embodied all that it means to be one. She was a humanitarian who loved to travel even visiting Africa to help children in need. Tanya never knew a stranger; whether you were meeting her for the first time or were a lifelong friend, she made you feel like you were the most important person in the room. She had the biggest smile and the most contagious laugh. Her willingness to do anything for her family and friends was unmatched. Tanya valued her family above all else and everyone will miss what a joy it was being around her. Tanya is survived by her mother, Maria Sandoval, and her sisters Leslie Ortiz, Lori Ortiz and Nicole Maldonado. Memorial services for Tanya will be held Friday, May 21st from 3-9, with a rosary and eulogy service beginning at 7pm at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home of Mission. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, May 22nd, at 10am at Our Lady of Guadalupe followed by burial at Rose Lawn Cemetery & Mausoleum. I carry your heart with me, I carry it in my heart.- E.E Cummings
