Hilda Garcia

December 8, 1946 - September 16, 2021

We regretfully announce the passing of Hilda "Nelda" Garcia of Alton, TX on September 16, 2021. Hilda passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Our mother, Hilda, was one of the strongest and kindest women to ever walk this earth. Our family was blessed to have her as our forever supportive mother and loving grandmother. She will be forever missed by her family and friends. Although she may no longer be with us, her spirit will forever be in our presence. On July 22, 1967, she married the love of her life, Juan Garcia and together they had three children. Hilda was a wonderful and loving mother who gave everything to her family. We will never be able to fill the void left behind by her. Hilda was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Juan Garcia, her parents Concepción and Amelia Cedillo and her brother Rosbel Cedillo. She is survived by her children Maria Hilda Garcia of Alton, Esteban (Marina) Garcia of Palmhurst, and Daniel (Sylvianora) Garcia of Edinburg, her siblings Roberto (Diana) Cedillo of Palmview, Osdelia Cedillo of Oregon, Raul (Delia) Cedillo of Palmview, Anna Cedillo of Penitas, Rodolfo (Kathy) Cedillo of Palmview, and her 5 granddaughters, Daniela, Gabrielle, Sophia, Katelyn and Katia. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Rosary to be held at 7:00 pm. Funeral Services to be held on Friday, September 24, 2021 at Our Lady Queen of Angels in La Joya at 11:00 am, internment immediately following at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Ric Brown Funeral Home.
