Elva Canales, 89, went to her Eternal rest on March 20, 2022. Elva was born on November 6,1932 in Cd. Mier, Tamaulipas Mexico to Jose Maria Saenz and Adelaida Garza Saenz. She is preceded in death by her Parents, Siblings Antonio, Alonzo, Francisca, Angelica, Olivia and her twin Thelma Saenz as well as her Beloved husband "Rudy" who have now welcomed her to her Eternal Heavenly Home. Elva met the love of her life, Rudy, in Roma Tx and they soon moved to Mission TX in 1962 where Rudy permanently established his Dental Practice as well as their home and family in Mission. Elva loved participating in many local clubs including the Sembradores de Amistad, Amigos del Valle, and she was Foundress for the Mission Chapter of the Pan American Round Table. Elva loved fashion and opened up her own boutique in the 70-80's known as Elva's Dress shop in Mission, TX . She was frequently complimented on her style and her friends often asked her advice on what to wear to certain events. She loved cooking and enjoyed inviting her friends over to her home where she would splendidly lavish her friends with great meals. Elva and Rudy loved to travel and visited many countries, took cruises and visited friends and family frequently. Elva and Rudy were blessed with 3 children Marlon E. Canales (Cynthia J), Dr. Tomas Canales (Raquel R) and Dr. Layra Canales-Flores (Dr. Hermilo Flores). Rudy and Elva were also blessed with 10 grandchildren: Erica Canales-Garcia (Raul), Marla Canales, Mark Canales (Jennifer) Michael Canales (Christine), Marlee Canales, Eric Canales, Tomas G. Canales, Layra Michelle Flores, David Ivan Flores and Daniel Isaac Flores. Six great grandchildren Dominic, Madison, Isabelle, Michael (Xander) Jr, Jude and Isabel. We are also truly grateful to her caregiver Graciela, her husband Joe and their family for the all the kindness, support and love you gave to both our parents Rudy and Elva in their last years. Visitation will be held on Sunday March 27th at Ric Brown Funeral home from 4pm-9pm with a Rosary at 7pm. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission, TX on Monday March 28th at 9:45 am. Burial will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Services are under the direction of Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission, TX.
